Rio di Cannaregio is transformed into a true water stage with a show that every year enchants thousands of spectators, where floating structures move on the water theme of the Carnival.
The Grand Opening of the Venice Carnival 2017 is entrusted to the capable creative minds of Corona Events artist company, which offers an impressive water show, directed by Roberto Corona: The Vanity of the Abyss, The Queen of the Sea resurfaces in Venice for reflection in the Moon.
Saturday, February 11 the show of images and aquatic music will officially open the Venice carnival celebrating the beauty, the sea and vanity with an original staging of the Rio di Cannaregio.
The vanity and the preciousness of the underwater world invade Cannaregio to blend the mysterious and colorful ritual of carnival, a century-old ritual that celebrates life. Marine creatures enchant the audience with their beauty and their secrets jealously. Do not miss a ‘thrilling tribute to Luna, that summoning the ancient waters, will accompany a majestic Queen of the abyss with his court of marine creatures.

The Venetian festival continues Sunday, February 12 with the water parade Rowing Associations and the wine and food tours with Venetian specialties.
